About

I write this blog to organize my thoughts and while I hope that someone finds them useful, I am content with them only having 1 reader - me, but if you want to read it that would be swell 😁.

I am a soldier (6 years in the US Army, although I got out a while ago), a father, a man with too many interests, and a software engineer. I’ve been an infantry officer, DevOps engineer, Tech Lead, ML Engineer, and backend engineer. The thing I like most (besides my lovely wife) is building things with software. The thing I find most fulfilling (professionally) getting difficult people to work as a part of a team to tackle hard problems.

I’m not really sure where this blog will go, if anywhere, so please let me know if you have comments: author (at) blog.hollandgibson.com

Professional Stuff

Portfolio

If you are looking for my portfolio, it’s here. Sadly, it’s a bit lean because my career has been in the proprietary side of things.

Security

Keys

To encrypt a file for me, use age with either of these identities:

Example:

age -r "$(curl -Ls https://blog.hollandgibson.com/.well-known/age.pub)" [FILE] > [FILE].age

Signatures

These are my highest trust signatures . I have other signatures used for git commits but I won’t use those for signing files.

OpenSSH

I generally use this method more often.

Example
curl -Lo hollandgibson.pub https://blog.hollandgibson.com/.well-known/openssh.pub
ssh-keygen -Y sign -f hollandgibson.pub -n file [SIG FILE]

(or create a allowed signers file). Guide.

Minisign

Example
minisign -Vm [FILE] -P "$(curl -Ls https://blog.hollandgibson.com/.well-known/minisig.pub)"
